The Mooresville Christmas Light Tour is all volunteer-led, and we're all about spreading Christmas cheer. From delighting children and adults alike with beautifully lit homes in our community, to financially supporting local nonprofits, we are bringing joy and hope to Mooresville, Indiana.
The Mooresville Christmas Light Tour is a free community event from Dec. 5 to 24, 2020. Residents across the town of Mooresville, Indiana, decorate their homes with twinkling Christmas lights and outdoor decorations.
On December 5, the tour map will be available. We'll have printed maps for pickup at select locations in town, as well as a PDF to download on our website.
We invite everyone to grab a map, pack up your family and drive around our town to view houses on our tour. (Please drive-by only and don't park in driveways or block the tour homes.) Homes will be lit nightly at dark, so you can enjoy the lights at your leisure on any night you choose!
The event is free, but we encourage you to donate to help our charities. Each house has a special text-to-vote code, located both on the map as well as on their yard sign. Vote for your favorite house(s) with $2 or more. Please be generous, because the funds raised go to our three local nonprofits: Churches in Mission, Boys & Girls Club of Morgan County, and Peace Restored.
History of our event
The Mooresville Christmas Light Tour began in 2019 when local resident, Suni Johnson, wanted to bring Christmas spirit to the town. She organized volunteers to recruit residents to decorate their homes, sponsor the event and build the map. With sponsorships and donations from the public, over $2,500 was raised to benefit local charities. In 2020, we are more determined than ever to spread joy to the town of Mooresville and beyond. Our committee of volunteers is working behind-the-scenes to organize the event and continue to build on this new community tradition.
