From December 1 to 31 each year, the town of Mooresville comes alive with twinkling lights, joyful hearts, and a shared spirit of giving during the annual Mooresville Christmas Light Tour. What began as a small, heartfelt idea has grown into one of the most anticipated events of the season—an entirely volunteer-led celebration of creativity, community, and compassion.
This beloved tradition invites residents and businesses to transform their homes and storefronts into dazzling holiday displays, turning Mooresville into a glowing map of Christmas cheer. From whimsical winter wonderlands to classic holiday elegance, each stop on the tour tells its own story—and every light is a tribute to the joy of the season.
Starting December 1, visitors can download our interactive Google Map or access printable and PDF versions from MooresvilleLights.com, making it easy to explore the tour in any order. The lights will be on nightly from dusk until 10 p.m., offering families plenty of time to bundle up, grab some cocoa, and enjoy the sights together. As you drive through the displays, you’ll also have the chance to vote online for your favorite—a fun way to show appreciation to our amazing participants.
Please note: this is a drive-by-only tour—we kindly ask that visitors stay in their vehicles, avoid parking in driveways, and respect the privacy of each participating home or business.
While the lights are free to enjoy, the true glow of this event comes from its purpose: to give back. Since its founding in 2019 by local resident Suni Johnson, the Mooresville Christmas Light Tour has raised thousands of dollars for important causes, including Churches in Mission, the Boys & Girls Club of Morgan County, and area schools. In 2024, we proudly supported local charities, and in 2025, we’re honored to partner with A Senior Retreat, a Morgan County nonprofit providing dementia care and respite for family caregivers.
Every donation—large or small—helps us spread light beyond the displays, supporting those in need right here at home. Our finances are transparently managed through the Community Foundation of Morgan County, ensuring your contributions go where they’re most needed.
